Forensic eye congestion
Causes of red eye in my son
At the time of discovery, his son's eyes were engorged like blood. (Symptoms of suffocation)
At the same time, there was a thick white film on my eyes.
It's a film that looks like it's hanging in the eyes of a dead fish. (Because my eyelids aren't closing, I left them without eye cream and eye patch, which are measures to prevent blindness.)
I called a forensic professor in Japan and abroad to find out what the detective had told me about the cause of the red eye.

10.3.2 Blood spill point (petechiae)
Bloody spots are small hemorrhagic spots found under the serosa and submucosa, and appear on the outer surface of the skin such as the face and anterior chest as well as the eyelids, bulbar conjunctiva, and oral mucosa. Internally, it is found in the lung wall / visceral pleura, epicardium, pharyngeal / laryngeal mucosa, trachea, thymus, and renal pelvis mucosa. The causes are increased blood pressure or vasospasm due to hypersecretion of catecholamines, and increased vascular permeability due to anoxia.
10.3.1 Visceral congestion of various organs
It occurs in almost all organs such as lungs, liver, kidneys, and brain. Capillaries and veins respond sensitively to hypoxia and dilate, where blood accumulates. The spleen may escape congestion and is explained to be due to blood release due to catecholamine hypersecretion. If the arteries are not sufficiently closed due to suffocation due to cervical compression , congestion is observed above the compressed area (face) (see the section on cervical compression).

6. Forensic diagnosis of choking
1) External findings
a. Basically, there are traces of external force such as compression.
b. The face is congested and the lividity is fast and strongly developed.
c. There are bleeding points (punctate small bleeding) on the conjunctiva.
2) Inside view findings
The blood is dark red and fluid.
b. The internal organs are congested, prominent in the lungs, liver and kidneys.
c. There are bloody spots in the conjunctiva of the eyelids and eyeballs, subpleural, epicardial, and subthymic capsular areas.
3) Three main symptoms of suffocation and sudden death: It is also seen at the time of sudden death, but it is prominently seen with suffocation.
Blood spots are scattered on the conjunctiva , mucous membranes, serosa, and sometimes the skin.
b. The blood in the heart is dark red fluid.
c. The organs are congested.
